2025 RACE INFORMATION

On Sunday September 21, 2025, the city of Des Moines will host the Greater DSM Midwest Half Marathon Series event with a new co-ed format for the 2025 racing season. Each event will offer a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and our popular Kids One Mile Fun Run for our youngest competitors. Starting and finishing just steps from the Polk County Courthouse on Court Avenue in the heart of downtown Des Moines, Iowa!

Returning for 2025: Each Half Marathon, 10K 5K produced by Premier Event Management in conjunction with the City of Des Moines as our host for this exciting event. Our Kids One Mile Fun Run will start and finish from our main finish line structure making the Kids event something extra special on race morning. Children from ages 5 to 15 are encouraged to join us on race morning to begin what we hope will be a lifestyle change at the Kids One Mile Fun Run!

Awards

The top three overall male and female race winners will receive either a Gold, Silver or Bronze award medal. The top three male and female finishers in their respective age group will also be awarded medals. Age Groups are 14 and under and move up from that point in 5-year increments to 80+.

Packet Pickup Information

Saturday, September 20, 2025 | 11:00am to 5:00pm

A copy of your drivers license or another form of identification is required. Also, in order to pick up a packet for a friend or family member you must have a copy of the participant’s driver’s license that you are trying to secure!

- 6:00am – 7:15am – Packet Pick up at Race Site
- 6:30am to 7:30am – Gear Check – Near the Starting Line
- 7:25am – National Anthem
- 7:30am – Start of Greater Des Moines Half Marathon
- 7:30am – Start of Greater Des Moines 5K Start
- 9:15am – 5K Top 3 Awards Presented (Age Group Awards available at Award Tent)
- 10:00am – Start of KidsFit One Mile Fun Run
- 10:00am – 10K Top 3 Awards Presented (Age Group Awards available at Award Tent)
- 10:30am – Half Marathon Top 3 Awards Presented (Age Group Awards available at Award Tent)
- 8:30am to 12:00pm – Post Event Party

Participants will receive a commemorative 2025 event race t-shirt, draw string bag, and a wonderful 2025 3.5" Finish Medal when you get to our finish line for each event. Our overall top 3 winners in both our men's and women's divisions will receive our 4.0" medals near our finish line.

Each Age Group top three winners will receive our 4″ medal of either Gold, Silver or Bronze color depending on the place in each age group. (*Please Note: Awards presented at this event are for the top 3 male and top three female competitors in each 5 year age group for each event.)
